17th July 2019
Belfast One is bringing back its Summer Cinema at Belfast City Hall for Take Two this August. With tickets free on a first come first served basis, you’ll need to be quick as you click so as not to disappoint your own Buzz Lightyear or Jessie for free tickets to a screening of Toy Story 3 on the big screen.
If comedy, romance or musicals are your thing, you’ll want to pitch your seat for School of Rock and Pitch Perfect but for the thrill seekers amongst us, sci-fi cult classic Jurassic Park is a must see.
Last year’s Summer Cinema tickets were snapped up within a couple of hours of being released so, for 2019, movie-goers are being given two weeks’ notice of the release date.
Speaking about the return of Summer Cinema at City Hall, Clare Maguire, Managing Director of Belfast One, said: “There’s nothing better than watching a blockbuster on the big screen! At Belfast One we are thrilled to be bringing the Summer Cinema back to the City Centre, with the iconic backdrop of City Hall, for a weekend of family fun and entertainment this August. We can’t wait to welcome audiences onto the lawns with their popcorn to sit back and relax before hitting the shops or indulging in some delicious city centre dining.”
Belfast One will again be partnering with Belfast Film Festival on the event, and bringing in extras including choirs, facepainters, film props and more!
Vittoria Cafolla, Festival Manager at Belfast Film Festival, said: “Following the success of last year’s Summer Cinema, Belfast Film Festival is delighted to once again collaborate with Belfast One to present a unique weekend of great films in the open air this August. We will be arranging for the sun to shine but in the event of rain, a limited number of ponchos will be provided!”
