Information

Role: Head of Economic Initiatives and International Development
Organisation Belfast City Council

Lisa Toland has been the Head of Economic Initiatives and International Development for Belfast City Council since 2014. Lisa looks after the Council’s work on economic development, employability and skills, culture, tourism development and international relations.  I am also responsible for the city markets including St George’s and Smithfield. In previous roles, Lisa worked in a number of economic development and regeneration roles in Belfast City Council and has worked in Belfast City Centre since 2002.  Prior to joining the Council in Belfast, she worked with the Local Authority in Leeds.

As well as the Belfast One Board of Directors, Lisa also represents Belfast City Council in most groups in the City Centre. Lisa believes the BID provides an opportunity for the Council to have a direct interface with the private sector in this part of the city.  This is absolutely critical if we want to make the City Centre a great place to work and visit.
