Beyond Skin Clinic is approaching their first birthday and to celebrate we caught up with co-owner Jennie Wallace to find out more about what her clinic offers right in the heart of the city centre.
Q & A with Jennie Wallace of Beyond Skin Clinic
Tell us about Beyond Skin
Beyond Skin opened in July 2016 and is co-owned by myself and Gillian Lowe. We were previously working for a large chain of clinics but they closed their Belfast branch in May 2016, making us both redundant. I was 6 months pregnant at the time and the possibility of being hired by someone else was slim, so we decided to take matters into our own hands and open our own clinic.
Gillian has ten years’ experience in the Aesthetics Industry and I’ve been an entrepreneur all my life so it felt like a natural next move to team up and open Beyond Skin.
We’ve been very encouraged by our success so far, there is a real demand for high quality treatments and we love being able to find solutions for clients who have been struggling with their skin. We treat a range of skin conditions including acne, rosacea and sun damage. We also boast the most advanced laser in Northern Ireland and offer hair removal, vein removal and skin rejuvenation.
What’s your favourite treatment at Beyond Skin and why?
My favourite treatment to have is a Laser Collagen Boost Facial treatment. It’s great because it’s really like 3 treatments in 1! The treatment is designed to stimulate natural collagen production in your skin, plumping out fine lines and reducing wrinkles. But at the same time the laser flashing over your skin reduces the appearance of broken veins and pigmentation. For that reason it’s a very popular treatment with clients of all ages.
What do you love about running a business in Belfast?
We love being in Belfast City Centre because our location is accessible to a wide range of people. Our clients come from all corners of the city to visit us and the diversity keeps every day interesting.
What’s your top tip for anyone visiting Belfast for the day?
Our clinic is located right next to the pedestrianised Fountain Centre Area. It’s definitely worth a visit to see the Alice Clock chiming on the hour, and then enjoy a bite in Sawyers Deli.
What’s next for Beyond Skin?
We’re about to celebrate our first birthday and we hope to build on the success of the past year, taking on more staff and growing our treatment offering with specialist clinics.
