Last weekend the Hit the North Street Art Festival 2024 held its mini Paint Jam in Lower Garfield Street, helping us to add a bit of colour and bring back to life the hoarding that has been an area of concern highlighted to us by our members.
You may have seen the difference in Lower Garfield Street when walking by! Thanks to Belfast City Council for helping out by joining us in using their 2024 theme/colours, and sponsoring Zippy’s piece that can be seen on Royal Avenue.
Eimear and Callum collaborated on this project to bring it to fruition, partnering with the Hit the North Team to arrange the jam and working closely with McQuillan Companies to schedule not only a deep clean of the area but also the removal and replacement of severely damaged boards and reinforcing of the hoarding edge to prevent injury.
With over 20 local street artists each providing a piece of street art on the hoarding, trying to pick a favourite has been too tough for us, so here’s a selection of photos from the day for you to pick yours!
