Q & A with Kirsty of
How long has Le Creuset been in Belfast?
We’ve been on Arthur Street since we first opening in 2011.
What made you passionate about running your business in the City Centre?
Belfast is unique; we have, genuinely, some of the friendliest people anywhere. The relatively small size of our city enables a more intimate feel and a closer engagement with our customers, we run cooking demonstrations and wine tastings in the store with demos from people like Brian Donnelly (chef at James Street South) and people here are great and really engaged with these types of events.
There are regional differences between Belfast and the mainland UK. People here research more and we ask more questions, all of which is to be welcomed. It’s why we ensure first class customer service that is focused around what people need and this approach continues to develop Le Creuset both here and worldwide as a trusted brand (combined with an unbeatable lifetime guarantee!).
What’s great about Belfast?
We are lucky to be located where we are. Arthur Street is such an up and coming area, and there is a great atmosphere in the vicinity around how unique, diverse and exciting it is. The small scale of the city centre means you are only ever a few minutes away from your next potential destination.
Tell us something about your business that we didn’t know
Le Creuset’s range is exceptionally broad, from salt and pepper mills, to corkscrews, mugs, condiment dishes, jugs, cookware, pan, grills, woks, glassware – the list goes on.
The company is also still owned by the founding family.
What tips do you have for people visiting our city?
The Titanic centre is a must and St Georges Market sells the best Bacon butties in the land.
Where are your favourite places to socialise in the City Centre?
For food, James Street South bar and grill. It offers fantastic food combined with great service. The Crown Bar is fab for atmosphere and for cocktails I would head to Rita’s.
What’s next for your business?
Watch out for our lovely new gifting range at Christmas and Limited Edition Petits Fruits Casserole.
